Detroit schools to offer free immunizations Saturday

DETROIT (WJBK) -

Detroit Public Schools will offer free immunizations for children at a number of campuses across the city this weekend.

Anntinette McCain from the DPS health office and Nichols Elementary principal Regina Haywood says the immunization open house will run from 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the following schools:

East English Village Preparatory Academy
5020 Cadieux

Garvey Academy
2301 Van Dyke Street

Gompers Elementary-Middle School
14450 Burt Road

Marshall, Thurgood Elementary School
15531 Linwood Street

Western International High School
1500 Scotten Street

The immunizations will be offered to children ages 10-21 only. All students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to receive services. Participants are asked to bring health insurance cards as well.

    A store clerk inside of a Brooklyn mini-mart was set ablaze when an enraged sicko threw a Molotov Cocktail into the store.  It happened just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday at the store on Fort Hamilton Parkway.The 34-year-old store clerk had his hair and coat catch fire in the attack.
