SHOREWOOD, Minn. (KMSP) -

South Lake Minnetonka police confirmed a death investigation is underway after a body was found at a home in Shorewood, Minn. on Wednesday. As the investigation continues Thursday, neighbors are growing frustrated by a lack of information and answers.

The investigation began on Wednesday afternoon after police executed a search warrant at a home at 5700 Wood Duck Circle. Police said the search was part of an ongoing investigation regarding a missing man.

Neighbors told FOX 9 News that detectives were in the area last week to ask if they had seen the missing person, specifically asking about burning smells in the nearby vicinity.

Police confirmed in a release that a body was found during a search of the property and they described the find as "suspicious in nature."

A person of interest was taken into custody and they are currently being held pending further investigation.

Investigators do not believe members of the community are at risk.
