North Jersey Sandy Recovery

Posted: Updated:
Little Ferry, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Hank chased a story up to Little Ferry, New Jersey in Bergen County where Governor Christie, the HUD Secretary and heads of the Sandy Rebuilding Task Force descended upon the town to talk about recovery plans.

Hank was more interested in talking to people of the community and getting their take on how the local and federal governments are helping those still affected by SuperStorm Sandy.

Hank met up with former Mayor George Zilocchi who said that after Katrina and Sandy this is something “we should be concerned about, it’s something that should be addressed, it should be addressed on a regional basis, it shouldn’t be just Little Ferry’s problem or Moonachie’s problem, it’s a New Jersey problem, and it has to be coordinated properly.”

A local builder expressed his concern to Hank about the prices of property taxes saying that “they are too high and a lot of people like us can’t afford to pay that.”  He also spoke to people’s whose homes were damaged from minor floods and storms throughout the last five years.  Their plea for help only confirms that something needs to be done and soon.

Little Falls Detective Sergeant James Briggs said that the two girls that initiated the investigation allegedly dated the same boy at separate times. The boy then passed on nude photos that he received from one of the girls onto the other.
