Man beaten with bat during mugging

NEW YORK (AP) — Three Staten Island men are accused of using a baseball bat to rob a 31-year-old man of his cash and cell phone.

Police say 19-year-old Henry Stanley was charged with swinging the bat at the victim on Jersey Street on Saturday morning.

According to the Staten Island Advance, the victim blacked out and realized he had been mugged after coming to a few minutes later.

Police arrested Stanley and two alleged accomplices a short time later.

All three were charged with robbery, assault, petty larceny and criminal possession of a weapon.

The other suspects were identified as Devante Brown and Errick Harvey.

Information about their lawyers wasn't immediately available.
