Sacks give $5M to Northwestern for CPS graduate scholarships

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Northwestern University announced a $3.6 million endowment to give scholarships to graduates of Chicago Public Schools.

The money was donated by Michael Sacks, the CEO of Grosvenor Capital Management, and his wife. Sacks is a key connection of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's to the business community.

The scholarships will be for academically talented, low-income CPS students to attend Northwestern.

They money is part of an overall $5 million gift to the university.
