A dog owner posted an ad Saturday on Craigslist threatening to shoot her dog if no one took it by the end on the day, according to Liz Pendleton.

"In the description it said they had no use for the dog and if no one came and got it they would shoot," Pendleton told FOX2 St. Louis.

Pendleton was shocked by the ad, and she knew she had no time to waste. So she drove an hour and a half from University City to Illinois to pick up the dog.

"It was an hour and a half, and the lady basically didn't say anything," she said. "There was no question I was going to get that dog."

Pendleton said she did notify police about the ad. She said she can't care for the dog permanently, so she is hoping someone will contact her and take him. It's unclear whether police will press charges on the woman who posted the ad.

"He deserves love and much more than he has been getting," she said. Pendleton named the dog "Buck."

Former NY Knicks point guard Raymond Felton pleaded guilty Wednesday in a Manhattan gun case, taking a plea deal that involved admitting a felony but spares him jail. Last winter, after Felton's law student wife filed for divorce, her attorney brought a loaded semi-automatic handgun to a police precinct and said it was Felton's and she wanted it out of the house, authorities said.  Felton's attorney said he never threatened anyone with the gun.
