Man selling 'Bulger wiretap' equipment on eBay

Posted: Updated:

(MyFoxBoston.com) – A man is selling what he claims to be the equipment used to tape phone conversations of convicted mob killer James "Whitey" Bulger.

The Boston Herald reports that John Reznikoff, of Westport, Conn., has three listings on eBay for what he claims is authentic equipment. The circuit boards and other pieces are listed on eBay in three separate sales, some of which are labeled "Bulger phone switch."

Boston Commodities says it sold a pallet of obsolete equipment that came from a government agency in Boston to Reznikoff for $500 a few years ago.

The FBI told the paper that the electronics are fake and went on to say that any conclusion drawn from the eBay listing that the FBI knew where Bulger was while he was on the lam is absolutely false.

Reznikoff is asking nearly $4,000 for the collection of circuit boards, wires and digital cards.
