AM/PM store clerk shot in the leg; police search for 2 suspects

PHOENIX -

Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly shot a convenience store clerk in the leg during a robbery on Saturday night.

According to officers, a suspect entered an AM/PM convenience store near 23rd Avenue and Indian School Road and stole beer and food.

About an hour later, the suspect returned with a gun and allegedly demanded cigarettes and money.

Police say he then shot the clerk in the leg.

As the suspect drove off, he backed into concrete pillars and caused extreme damage to the rear of his car.

The clerk was taken to a hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.

According to police, the suspect is described as a Hispanic male that's 5' 9" and 250 pounds. A second suspect is described as a black male with a similar build. They were both seen leaving in a Chevrolet Impala.
