Two wounded in separate Chicago Lawn shootings

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two men were injured in shootings that occurred minutes apart on the Southwest Side Friday afternoon in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

A 30-year-old man was shot in the leg at 3:07 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Spaulding Avenue, police said. He was listed in "stable" condition at an area hospital.

Less than 10 minutes later, a 23-year-old man walked into Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to his wrist. He was shot near the intersection of West 71st Street and South Kedzie Avenue, police said.

His condition was not immediately known.

No one was in custody for either shooting as Area Central detectives investigated.
