GLENDALE, Ariz. -

Glendale Police have arrested two people believed to be responsible for several locker burglaries at health clubs in Glendale, Peoria, and Phoenix.

During an undercover operation, detectives observed the two suspects, Joseph Meddenhall and Katlyn Munger, at Valley Racquet and Health Club in Phoenix.

Police said Munger burglarized a locker in the facility and stole a purse. Meddenhall then used the victim's keys to burglarize the victim's parked vehicle, police added.

They later observed Munger using the victim's credit card at a grocery store.

The Phoenix residents were taken into custody on Thursday. Meddenhall was in possession of a handgun when taken into custody, and the investigation revealed he had been armed with the handgun during the health club burglary earlier in the day.

A search warrant was obtained for their residence, and detectives found evidence in other health club burglaries, to include dozens of keys and cut padlocks.

They are facing multiple counts of burglary and are suspected in at least 20 cases.
