Community Fundraiser Supports Hannah Anderson's Family

Lakeside, CA -

New court documents released Thursday show investigators found empty boxes for handcuffs, used condoms and a possible murder weapon at the home of James Lee DiMaggio.

Also on Thursday, some 45 miles west, Hannah Anderson made her first public appearance since her abduction at a fundraiser aimed at easing funeral costs for her family.  Hundreds came out to Boll Weevil's in Lakeside with the popular restaurant donating 20 percent of proceeds to the Anderson's.

"The community came together putting on this great fundraiser for Hannah, her future and hopefully her healing," said Brett Anderson, Hannah's father.  "This is how Lakeside rolls."

According to search warrants released Thursday, some of the items recovered from the home of James Lee DiMaggio include eyebrow-raising items like two used condoms and empty boxes for handcuffs.

But other items including a crowbar, a baseball bat and empty ammo boxes for small firearms and a shotgun were also collected.

These are items that could potentially have been used in the murder of Hannah Anderson's mother, Christina and her brother Ethan.

Court documents released Wednesday indicate police found a crowbar near Christina Anderson's body with what appeared to be blood near her head.

A gas can, a blow torch and multiple instances of what police simply labeled as "incendiary devices" were taken in as well, according to the court documents.

Those items have a possible connection to the fire that destroyed the home and detached garage of DiMaggio, a blaze that police said were possibly set intentionally.

There were no dates given, but letters written by Hannah Anderson were also reportedly found on the property.  Those letters were in addition to what police labeled a handwritten note, with an unspecified author and unspecified contents.

Hannah did not make any public statements Thursday, but her family says she was overwhelmed by the support.

"Everyone's prayers and support that brought us all together," said Sara Britt, Hannah's grandmother.  "She doesn't understand… "Why are they are doing this for me? I'm just Hannah."

"Just thanks to everybody for showing up and helping," said Ralph Britt, Hannah's grandfather.
