Countdown To Miss America

Posted: Updated:
Atlantic City, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Ronica is chasing the return of the Miss America Pageant to the Atlantic City Boardwalk.  In one month a new Miss America will be crowned. The panel of judges was just announced, and Ronica went on a chase to find out if they are qualified.

At first glance, you've got a star-studded list of celebrities.

- Deidre Downs Gunn, MD: she was Miss America in 2005

- Carla Hall: she's a co-host of ABC's popular lifestyle series "The Chew."

- Barbara Corcoran: she's one of the "Sharks" on ABC's hit TV show, Shark Tank

- Amar'e Stoudemire: he's a professional basketball player with the New York Knicks

- Lance Bass: he's most famously known as a former member of *NSYNC

- Joshua Bell: a Grammy award winning violinist.

- Mario Cantone: actor, comedian who was famously known as Charlotte's wedding planner on Sex and the City.

But on Ronica's chase she learned that these aren't the only judges.  There is an entirely different panel of seemingly unknown people who will be judging the preliminary phases of competition leading up to the final night.

To get more information about the judging process and to find out how Miss New Jersey, Cara McCollum, will do at Miss America, Ronica and the entire Chasing NJ team Skyped with Dana Rosengard.  Rosengard is a pageant judge and expert.

So I have no intention of going anywhere near them, I think it's a horrible idea,” one customer said.
