More former inmates join lawsuit over restraint chairs

Posted: Updated:
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

More former Gwinnett County inmates have joined a lawsuit claiming the sheriff's department violated policy by putting them in restraint chairs as punishment.

The FOX 5 I-Team has previously reported how Gwinnett County uses the chairs far more than any other metro jail. Authorities there insist that the chairs keep both prisoners and deputies safe.

FOX 5 I-Team reporter Randy Travis has the story of one former inmate who claims he wound up in the chair.
