Jim Brown Talks Racism and Gang Culture in the NFL

Posted: Updated:

Football great Jim Brown talks with Liz Habib about the current state of the NFL on this Fox 11 Sports Special.  Topics include Riley Cooper, Aaron Hernandez and Johnny Manziel.

What did Brown think of Riley Cooper's use of a racial slur? Is it ever okay to use the word Cooper got caught on camera using?

He talked about the Patriots Aaron Hernandez and his ties to gang culture.  He says the NFL needs to be able to recognize the influence gangs can have on it's athletes.

Brown slammed the NCAA for it's handling of college athletes.  He reacted to allegations that Johnny Manziel sold autographs for $7500.

Brown also talks about his organization, The Pro Footbal Retired Players Association, their settlement with the league and what he considers the most important step moving forward for the former players of the NFL.
