Bride-to-be survives after she stopped breathing for 19 minutes

Less than four weeks before Meghan Warren was supposed to get married, her life took a tragic turn.

"An attendant was walking by and saw me turning blue, and that's when they started the CPR," she explained.

Let's rewind back to July 14. That's when Warren drove herself to Troy Beaumont Hospital for chest pains due to her gallbladder. It sounds pretty routine, but a complication from sleep apnea stopped her heart.

"We said goodnight to her, and she was fine and everything, and then that night, that's when she coded," said mother-in-law to be Jerilyne Neeme.

Warren didn't take a single breath for 19 minutes. When crews finally got her heart pumping again, her prognosis didn't look good. Doctors decided to drop her body temperature by basically putting her on ice to protect her brain, then slowly warmed her back up. The procedure more than worked.

"I'm so shocked that she's talking normal, she's walking, everything. She's back to Meghan," said sister-in-law to be Kristy Neeme.

On Friday, Warren had a quick lunch with her girlfriends and got her nails done, just like any other bride-to-be. She will soon walk down the aisle with her finance, Patrick, to celebrate their love and a life together that almost didn't happen.

"The doctor told everybody that I would either have brain damage, memory loss or be a vegetable, so me being alive and walking and talking and getting married, it's a miracle," Warren said.
