Lucy Hale and Darren Criss: It's All About Teen Choice

Posted: Updated:

Glee's Darren Criss spoke briefly about how the cast is coping with the death of Cory Monteith Thursday on Good Day LA. "Life moves on and I think we're pushing forward."

Darren and Lucy Hale are hosting FOX's Teen Choice Awards Sunday night and say they have a plan to keep the young crowd on their side. "If anything fails, we just say 'One Direction' and they go 'yaaaaaaayyyy!" Darren is shooting the new season of "Glee" and Lucy is gearing up for "Pretty Little Liars", or as Darren calls it, "Little Dirty Girls".

"Glee" is nominated for several awards and Lucy is up for Favorite Summer Actress. When Steve asked her what that meant she replied "I don't even known but I'll take it!"

Darren says he knows Lucy off camera and when the show's producers asked him who would be a great co-host he didn't even have to think about it. "They asked me to host and I was very touched by this and they wanted this sort of female energy so I was thinking of somebody who'd be really fun to host it and I thought of Lucy....she's a little country I'm a little rock and roll."

Steve and Maria pointed out the pair was clicking on Good Day and thinks they'll do really well Sunday night. Darren thinks he's right. "There's a certain spontaneity that will happen when we get there and the fun thing is...the audience is already excited to be there." The Glee star also talked about why he's excited about an upcoming Beatles themed episode. "I will say I just got to do a fitting of the famous Ed Sullivan outfits that they did...I was doing the fitting going 'this is so awesome'".
