2 accused in string of burglaries in Peoria area

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) - A man and woman are in custody in connection with dozens of home burglaries in Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria and Sun City.

Peoria police say 39-year-old Daniel Grant and 27-year-old Nicole Ericson are facing multiple counts of residential and vehicle burglary.

Police say garage door openers were stolen from vehicles parked in church parking lots and then being used to gain access to the owner's homes.

Law enforcement agencies created a taskforce to find the people responsible for the burglaries and were able to identify a vehicle allegedly being used by the suspects.

Grant and Ericson were was located in Phoenix and fought with officers before being arrested.

Authorities didn't immediately know Monday if either Grant or Ericson had a lawyer yet.
