LOCUST GROVE, Ga. -

Authorities are searching for suspects after a gas station owner was shot during a robbery in Locust Grove on Monday.

Surveillance footage shows a gunman walking into the Chevron gas station located on Highway 42 around 7:45 p.m..  Investigators said that the owner refused to give the man money. The gunman then opened fire.

A second man is seen taking money from the cash register. That man dropped some money on the ground. As he was picking it up, a customer walked into the store and walked past the robber.

Police said that both men then ran off.

Authorities said that several witnesses saw the men and their getaway car, which was described as an older-model charcoal gray or black Chevy vehicle, possibly an SUV, most likely a Trailblazer.

The owner was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. An employee told FOX 5's Chris Shaw that doctors say the owner should be OK. An employee said that the owner has a wife and two children.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Locust Grove Police Department.
