Universal City, CA -

(FOX 11 / CNS) About 10 people had to be taken off Universal Studios' Transformers: The Ride today when one of the cars became stuck, but nobody was injured.

Firefighters were sent to the attraction in the 3900 block of Lankershim Boulevard at 9:10 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. According to a statement from the theme park, the ride "encountered a technical difficulty'' and "a small number of guests'' were helped off the attraction.

The ride was undergoing a routine inspection but was expected to reopen later today, according to Universal Studios.

The ride, which includes a track, motion-control technology and big video screens, opened to rave reviews in 2012, with Universal crediting it with an uptick in attendance at its Hollywood amusement park that year.

If an iced coffee from Dunkin' Donuts is part of your afternoon routine, expect a nudge to buy a cookie or doughnut you didn't plan on. Dunkin' Brands CEO Nigel Travis said in a phone interview Thursday that the company is pushing to get its cashiers to "upsell" to afternoon customers. It's part of an effort to increase sales after stores have emptied out after the morning rush.
