CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man was critically hurt in a high-speed crash in the West Englewood neighborhood late Saturday.

A 1993 Saturn crashed into a tree in the 2000 block of West 69th Street at 11:27 p.m., police said.

Emergency crews had to cut a man out of the wreckage, Fire Media Affairs said. Paramedics took him to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition.

The victim was a 34-year-old man, police said.

The cause of the crash was not immediately disclosed early Sunday.
