HALL COUNTY, Ga. -

A woman was found dead in the Chattahoochee River arm of Lake Lanier on Friday, authorities said.

The woman was found floating face down in the lake, police said.

Deputies in Hall County are trying to figure out what happened to the woman.  On Saturday morning, they identified her as 32-year-old Michelle Dianne Baxter of Gainesville.  Her family tells FOX 5 she was a mother of four children, ages 10, 11, 14 and 15.

Investigators say there were no obvious signs of trauma, and witnesses had reported seeing a woman swimming in that area last night.

Police tell FOX 5 that the victim was pulled out of the water by the Hall County Dive Team and transported to DeKalb County for an autopsy.
