Wow! No matter your music taste - it's an exciting weekend for outdoor concerts in LA this weekend.

Saturday night,  In a very special performance, American icon Diana Ross returns to the Hollywood Bowl to celebrate an unparalleled career that spans more than 40 years, singing her most memorable hits, such as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "I'm Coming Out," and "Endless Love." Sunday at the Bowl, Celebrating the release of their new record, the rapturous live shows by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros draw on eclectic influences, rich 12-piece arrangements, and a communal vibe, all to great acclaim. The Sun Ra Arkestra's innovative cosmic vibrations transport us with infectious free-form grooves. And Zimbabwe's Mtukudzi opens with his captivating "Tuku" music.

Over at the Greek Theatre, The most successful French musical outfit of all time, Gipsy Kings, are set to return to The Greek Theatre, LA on Saturday, August 3rd featuring Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo.  Get Tickets here.

On Sunday at the Greek, Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration featuring Warren Haynes and a full orchestra will perform at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 4th.  This new symphonic project celebrates American musical icon Jerry Garcia.

Saturday - the Sunset Street Music Festival, shuts down Sunset Blvd. between San Vicente & Doheny.

The event features Linkin Park, Awolnation, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Wale, Logic, Asher Roth, Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh, Finch, Street Drum Corps, Warren G, Orgy, Bizarre Ride Ft. And finally Downtown, HARD SUMMER—which returns to downtown's Los Angeles State Historic Park Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4—has now made available set times (see below). Meanwhile, two-day passes and Saturday general admission tickets are no longer available.  There is a limited number of Sunday general admission passesstill to be had, with Saturday and Sunday VIP passes in limited supply.     Heavy thunderstorms swept through the tri-state on Sunday causing flash floods and lightning strikes that injured 3 people. The three men were struck at Orchard Beach in the Bronx Sunday afternoon and were being treated at a local hospital. Meanwhile, various Labor Day weekend celebrations were interrupted, delayed and even canceled as the U.S. Open tennis tournament had to be postponed and the Electric Zoo musical festival on Randall's Island had to be prematurely shut down.
