ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WJBK) -

Just hours after releasing a photo of a man they say may have information related to the murder of a University of Michigan medical student, Ann Arbor police say that potential witness has come forward.

Investigators say the man is not considered a suspect in the death of 25-year-old Paul DeWolf.

Det. Lt. Robert Pfannes says the man voluntarily went to the police department Thursday after his photo from a security camera was released to the public. Police had been trying to learn his identity.

Pfannes says the photo was taken "in the area" of DeWolf's home. He won't elaborate.

DeWolf's body was discovered on July 24 in a home where he lived with other medical students. Police consider the death a homicide. An autopsy showed he was killed by a single gunshot wound.

His apartment was orderly and nothing of value appeared to be stolen.

Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor Police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6939 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is holding its monthly board meeting, two days after it heard from a panel on what it needs to do to improve its accountability and efficiency and restore public trust.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey could rescind a $1-a-year lease for a park-and-ride lot near the Lincoln Tunnel. The agency's chief of real estate and development told a committee Wednesday that it should change a deal made in 2012. Published reports have alleged that former Port Authority chairman David Samson voted to approve the lease even though his law firm did business with New Jersey Transit, which operates the park-and-ride lot.
