Suspect Shot By Police After Attempting To Run Down Officer

CHESTER, Pa. -

A suspect was shot as he was trying to escape from police and allegedly attempted to run down an officer in Delaware County.

SkyFOX was over the scene on the 400 block of Hayes Street around 4 p.m. afternoon.

Authorities say they were investigating suspected drug activity when they found 26-year-old Steffan Trader inside his car.

They tried to question him, and that's when police say Trader put his car in gear and tried to run over an officer.

Police fired several shots, injuring the man, who is now charged with aggravated assault and various drug offenses.

Trader is in custody charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and various drug offenses, according to authorities.
