Helpful hints to shift your kids from summer to school

ATLANTA -

As summer comes to an end, parents are faced with the challenge of starting to re-focus their students on schoolwork.

Good Day Atlanta's Tacoma Perry spoke with a local teacher about some helpful strategies she thinks will help parents to get their students ready for the upcoming school year. And, even though she teaches high school level, her tips are applicable to students of all ages.

She says start putting your children on their "school bed schedule" right now! She also touched on buying nutritional lunches and snack during the school year because it makes a difference on their school day performance.

She especially emphasized meeting your child's teachers before school starts. She says it gives parents a chance to get the teaching philosophy of the teacher and ask any questions.
