BLUE ISLAND, Ill. (Associated Press) -

A suburban Chicago golf course manager says a shooting that injured a man as he loaded his clubs is a car was an isolated incident.

The Southtown Star reports the 42-year-old golfer was shot in the arm and leg last week at the Meadows Golf Club in Blue Island.

The man was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

General manager Jerry Vidovic calls the shooting "a fluke" and "a terrible incident."

He says the man who was shot was a regular player at the club who'd just finished practicing when he was shot by someone in a blue vehicle, which then drove away.

Blue Island police told the paper they're investigating.
