The hit and run took place around 9:45pm Friday. A light grey or silver Ford minivan trying to beat a red light rammed into a pedestrian and then kept on going.

"From what the witnesses are telling us it looked like he was timing the light," said Sgt. Al Nason with Dearborn Heights Police. "He came around one van and from the second lane to the first lane hit the victim and just kept going, didn't hit the brakes, didn't slow down."

Here's where you can get involved. The minivan police are looking for has damage to the left front side. Police are releasing a photo of the driver's side mirror that was left behind at the scene. If you have any information, call Dearborn Heights Police immediately. They're also asking body shops to be on the lookout for a vehicle with this type of damage.

The victim is a white male in his mid-30's. Police have notified his family but they're not releasing his name. He's in intensive care at Detroit Receiving Hospital.
