ATLANTA -

An American Airlines flight was diverted to Atlanta on Saturday evening due to an unruly passenger.

Officials for the airline say the flight 1926 from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to San Juan diverted to Atlanta around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. It landed safely and was greeted by police and other emergency vehicles that escorted the flight to the gate.

An official for Hartsfield Jackson International Airport says that the passenger, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested and booked into the Clayton County Jail.

The flight refueled and continued on to Puerto Rico without further incident.
