Crash victims and heroes reunited by Facebook post

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

This next story shows you the power of social media. Thursday we received a post on our Facebook page, asking us to share the photo with all our FOX 10 Facebook fans.

The picture showed 3 men standing around a flipped over SUV. He said his friend had been in crash a few months ago, and these 3 guys were some good Samaritans who helped pull his friend and his two young boys out of the wreckage -- saving their lives.

But the man and the boys were whisked away by an ambulance, and he was never able to thank the men, or even get their names. He desperately wanted to find them.

It sounded like a great story so we posted the picture and within an hour someone recognized the good Samaritans -- and we were able to connect them.

It was scary crash on Thunderbird and 64th Street in Scottsdale -- a family flipped upside down in their car. Two kids were hanging from their car seats.

Luckily they survived and their father has thanked everyone from the firefighters to the car seat company. But there were a few good Samaritans hadn't been able to thank until now.

Nate Dominguez strapped his son Riley in a car seat. It's the same routine he did two months ago before making a drive three blocks away from him home that nearly turned his life upside down.

"When I got to right about here I look over and see this silver car coming into the intersection at full speed."

His car flipped, skidding down the street. His two young boys were hanging from their car seats. He didn't know if they survived. Now two months later Dominguez recalls the ill-fated crash -- but knows it could have been worse.

"I remember kicking the door open with my right foot and that's where these guys were just standing there like angels," says Dominguez.

Good Samaritans came out of the nearby neighborhood and pulled his two boys to safety. But in the chaos Dominguez never got their names and never had the chance to thank them. All he had was this picture.

"I thought if I use Facebook I might be able to find these guys on my own."

A month after Nate Dominguez posted this image to his Facebook a middle school buddy reposted it to our Facebook at FOX 10 and it took just an hour before someone recognized the men.

A meeting of strangers -- for the second time on this Scottsdale road.

"Thank you!" yells little Riley.

"You are one of the guys who helped us out, thank you," says Nate.

"You're very welcome my friend."

Dominguez and his family, thanking their heroes. This time "good fortune" and the help of social media brought them together.

"It's like having angels and to have social media connect us, it's given me chills even as we are standing here in the heat."

Dominguez and his kids walked away from that crash with just bruises and cuts, and he's so thankful to those good Samaritans for getting his kids safety out of the car that he's talking them all out to dinner.

Police say they're investigating a large brawl that broke out at the end of a wedding reception held over the weekend at a suburban Buffalo country club. Officials tell local media that seven different police agencies were called in late Saturday to break up the fight at the Orchard Park Country Club. Officers say dozens of the approximately 200 guests were involved in the melee, which broke out after a member of the wedding party was tossed off the premises for inappropriate behavior.
