Mother mourns 2-year-old who drowned in community pool

FLORENCE, Ariz. -

Funeral plans are being made for a 2-year-old girl who drowned in the pool in Florence earlier this week. The toddler's young mother is also speaking out.

Stacie Rubianes talked to us at a car wash she was holding Thursday.

Little Lilliana Serrana drowned at the Magma Ranch Community Pool in Florence even though her mom and a group of friends were nearby when the toddler slipped under.

Others at the pool pulled Lillian out and started CPR, but it was too late. She was flown to the hospital where she later died.

Now, the mother who is pregnant and obviously distraught spoke through tears about her daughter's death.

"I'm hanging in there. I miss my little girl. I just hate the fact that people talk negative about me... that it's my fault and everything. She was a happy baby. I loved her so much. I want her to come home but she's not. I just have to have faith in her that now she's in good hands with God."

"I love her so much... and just please. Be here for me. Don't talk negative about me. Don't switch different stories about what happened. I do love my daughter. I don't do drugs, I don't drink. I'm a good mom. And I'm having another baby and I just wish she was here to see her little brother born. Mommy loves you Lilli."

Stacie says she wants to give her daughter a proper burial which is why she's holding a car wash to raise money.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. said the thieves would then resell the tickets and split up the proceeds.
