Beverly Hills Home A High End Drug Den?

Posted: Updated:

According to a copy of a search warrant obtained by fox 11 news, early last month, federal drug enforcement agents intercepted two packages sent from Indonesia addressed to a home in the flatlands of Beverly hills.

The contents of the packages were listed as patchouli oil, but when agents opened them up, they found six unlabeled metal thermos-like containers filled with sassafras oil, a highly regulated substance in the US and the key ingredient to make molly or ecstasy - popular drugs used at raves.

Joannie, a woman who is a relative of the next door neighbor said, "U heard this was where they manufactured ecstasy and drugs and the fumes were going over to the next door neighbor and making her sick. "

Some neighbors told Fox 11, there would be loud parties at the house and there was even an stabbing in May.

The DEA says the total weight of the two packages sent to the house was roughly 30 pounds, enough to make forty five thousand hits of molly or ecstasy.

Tony Moore, deputy la sheriff says these types of mdma drugs are on the rise, "those of you who have children should be concerned.  We're seeing kids go to these raves, these Facebook parties as young as 12 years old.  We're seeing kids using this drug as young as 12 years old and we're starting to see an increase so it's a big concern"

DEA agents arrested 27 year old Christopher Lansing for possession and manufacturing drugs.  He's been released on 75 thousand dollars bail.

According to the search warrant, law enforcement officials also seized nearly 30 thousand dollars in cash and other chemicals and apparatuses at the house.

Every day, those who live and work in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn drive and bike and walk across their canal, growing a little more accustomed to but no less disgusted by its scent and appearance. Once the busiest canal in the United States, the Gowanus now bears the distinction as perhaps the most polluted body of water in the nation. No one knows exactly how polluted because few have summoned enough courage to dive into its murky depths to investigate.
