CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Chicago Blackhawks are headed to South Bend.

They'll start their preparation for the defense of their Stanley Cup championship in September when they open training camp at Notre Dame.

The Hawks will train for four days (Sept. 12-15) at the Compton Family Ice Arena on the Fighting Irish campus.

Then they'll return to the United Center on Sept. 16 for their annual training camp festival.

Tickets for that are $5 and they go on sale Friday morning.

The hawks open the 2013-14 regular season Oct. 1 at home against the Washington Capitals.
