Food Safety: What Causes Food Poisoning?

If you've ever had food poisoning, you know it can make you seriously ill with vomiting, diarrhea, nausea and headaches.

Even if you've never had it, statistics show that 48 million people get it every year.

That means that one out of every six people is sickened by contaminated food.

It's usually caused by a variety of bacteria, viruses and parasites.

What's really nauseating is that most food borne diseases are caused by feces getting into your food.

Dr. Jen Caudle was live on "Good Day Philadelphia" Monday to give some tips on keeping your family fed and safe at the same time.
