FAIRBURN, Ga. (AP) - The Georgia State Patrol has identified a girl killed during a police chase south of Atlanta as 17-year-old Cheyenne Pierce.

Police in suburban Atlanta say the Sunday afternoon chase ended in a fatal crash on Interstate 85.

Authorities say Union City police were following an unidentified woman driving a 1996 BMW that had been reported stolen Sunday afternoon.

Officials say the driver lost control of the car, the vehicle flipped and eventually crashed. Police say Pierce, who was riding in the car, was thrown from the car and died. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/12qeiJi) that another passenger, 18-year-old Demetrius Roberts, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. His condition was unknown.

Union City is about 17 miles southwest of downtown Atlanta.
