Hip Hop artist Yo-Yo hosts free music program for kids

Rap artist Yolanda "Yo-Yo" Whitaker is giving back to area youth by offering a free Summer Edition of the Yo-Yo School of Hip Hop Arts & Academic Music Program in Highland Park.

Yo-Yo's school of Hip Hop, based in Los Angeles, California, exposes participants ages 7-17, to vocal training, hip hop dance, beat production, artist development, life skills training, team work, self-awareness, empowerment and so much more.

This year's program runs between July 14 and Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Henry Ford Academy at 131 Pilgrim Street.
