Police arrest driver who allegedly ran over man trying to break up fight

Police have arrested a 34-year-old man who allegedly intentionally ran over a man who was trying to break up a bar fight on July 4.

Adrian Vasquez was booked with aggravated assault on Friday.

According to Phoenix Police, Vasquez hit and then ran over a 25-year-old man in the parking lot of O'Brien's Pub near 35th Avenue and Northern.

Things between Vasquez and another man got heated inside the bar and they were ordered to leave.

The argument continued in the parking lot where the injured man tried to intervene.

Police say Vasquez left the lot, but returned moments later and allegedly hit the man with his truck.

According to officers, he immediately fled the parking lot.

The 25-year-old victim survived, but has had multiple surgeries.
