Convicted in hit man scheme, woman arrested again

Posted: Updated:

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - A 72-year-old Georgia woman who went to prison for trying to hire a hit man to kill her husband is back behind bars.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports that Ivy Jean Davis is being held in the Clarke County Jail on a probation violation.

It's the second time in two months and the fourth time overall that Davis has been accused of violating probation since being released from prison.

The Madison County woman served five years in prison after pleaded guilty to trying to have her husband killed in 2007. A judge ordered her to stay away from her husband and other people while on probation.

But Davis was arrested Wednesday on a probation violation. She allegedly went to her husband's home, phoned him and left the county without permission.
