LeBron and Kobe together on the Lakers in 2014? Now that Dwight Howard has moved on to Houston, and the Lakers have waived Metta World Peace to save money what's the future for the Los Angeles Lakers? This year may seem like a year to rebuild, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash and Pau Gasol make up the nucleus of the team, and the front office is adding players including, Chris Kaman, Nick Young, and they're working on a deal to bring back Jordan Farmar. But owner Jim Buss and General Mitch Kupchick have a plan, it may be difficult for fans to see but sportswriter and NBA expert Mark Heisler knows something about it. Heisler has been covering the NBA for years, he says talking about the players is like talking about family.
And what about LA's other team? The Clippers are in a position to take over the spotlight from the Lakers with the acquisition of superstar coach Doc Rivers, and the free agent signing of All Star point guard Chris Paul. Heisler is as much an insider as you can be with the Clippers and he'll shed some light on the team. Are they truly on the verge of breaking through and rivaling the Lakers as LA's team?
