Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

The fight to replace Georgia U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, who has decided not to run for re-election next year, is shaping up to be a wild one.

The latest InsiderAdvantage poll for FOX 5 shows none of the Republican candidates with more than 20 percent.

Congressman Jack Kingston leads the pack with 17 percent, followed closely by Congressman Phil Gingrey (15 percent), former Secretary of State Karen Handel (13 percent) and Congressman Paul Broun (11 percent).

In the race for the governor, incumbent Nathan Deal has a strong lead at this very early stage.

The mayor of Dalton, David Pennington, is the only Republican to so far announce a challenge to Deal.

Deal holds the lead with 50 percent to Pennington's 8 percent.

The poll has a margin of error of +- 5.7 percent.

FOX 5's Russ Spencer discussed the race with InsiderAdvantage CEO and FOX 5 political analyst Matt Towery.
