LOWER GWYNNED, Pa. -

Police need your help finding a man that could be the ultimate wedding crasher. Images from a surveillance camera show him milling around the William Penn Inn in Lower Gwynned Township Sunday night, staking out a wedding reception.

He allegedly snatched a gift box full of cash and checks when the bride wasn't looking.

"It's horrible. Who would do something like that at a wedding? It's like stealing from a funeral too," says Glen Bowie, father of the bride.

The outrageous theft has him floored. He even says he saw the man hanging around the building and in the parking lot, feeling something wasn't right.

"Everything started coming together. I saw a car out there for a couple hours. We saw somebody inside that didn't look like they belonged there," says Bowie.

Investigators say the man watched the bride put the gift box in her unlocked car and grabbed it when she walked back into the party.

"It's a new crime that we haven't seen yet. It's pretty gutsy to go into a wedding party," Police Chief Paul Kenny says.

Chief Kenny says the man was walking around the building for several hour, waiting to strike.

He even went into the party a short time to look around!

"I think he was casing it, saw those gifts and he just waited for the opportunity to strike when he'd get the box."

Police are also looking for the man's car: a dark gray Mazda.

Greg bowie says he hopes the man is caught before he strikes again.

"I wanted to go up there and steak it out myself and see if he shows up again. I don't know what I would do."
