Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A purported gang member allegedly screamed "F--- the police" near the Water Tower, then weaved in and out of traffic, putting pedestrians in danger Friday night, Cook County prosecutors said.

Stephen Shedrick, 20, of Oak Park walked through Water Tower Park, allegedly screaming the expletive, the Sun-Times reports. He then began jumping and flailing his arms in the middle of the street near Chicago and Orleans, according to his arrest report.

When an officer spotted him, Shedrick allegedly said "F--- you, you ain't so tough. Say it in my face."

He continued walking in traffic, forcing some pedestrians onto the street into oncoming traffic, prosecutors said.

Shedrick was charged with a misdemeanor charge of reckless conduct.

"If you did this on Michigan Avenue, you're not leaving here without paying something," Judge Israel Desierto said Saturday before issuing Shedrick $1,000 bail.
