Gettysburg Farm's Owners Think Outside The Box For July 4th

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -

A private farm just outside of Gettysburg didn't partake in the typical July 4 fireworks display.

Instead, re-enactors fired real firearm mortars with real cannon balls to demonstrate how the weapon could be used to blow through fortified walls.

The National Park Service calls these re-enactors living historians.

About 10,000 people took part in the event Thursday to honor the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.
