Angel MedFlight takes baby to Boston for treatment

Posted: Updated:
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

This little guy is about to head out on a lifesaving adventure. He's taking his first private charter, headed to Boston's Children Hospital, thanks to Angel MedFlight.

The 5-month-old suffers from a digestive condition called gastroentesis. He's received care in the valley but now needs specialized medical care in Boston.

With help from Angel MedFlight, baby, mom and a team of neonatal nurses took off from Scottsdale Airpark Wednesday afternoon.

"This is just a lot to take on and I'm going through a lot myself so to have everybody take care of it, its really nice to have that happen cause I'll have a lot to do when I get there," says mom Serrena Swanson.

As an added bonus, the baby's dad just finished a tour of duty and is now stationed at a naval base in Boston.

He will meet his family at the airport when they arrive.
