Here's what you need to know:

Peachtree Road Race

Roads have already started closing in preparation for Thursday's Peachtree Road Race.  Parts of Juniper Street, North Avenue and Piedmont Road will remain closed as crews get everything ready.  From now until Thursday afternoon, you can expect delays throughout the entire 6.2 mile course that winds through the city.

Streets around the start area will close at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 4.  Once the start area is secure, Atlanta Police will close the course through the finish area.

Legendary Fourth of July festivities at Lenox Square

Road closures
From approximately 8:00 p.m. until the streets are cleared of pedestrian traffic, Lenox Road between Peachtree and East Paces Ferry roads, as well as Peachtree Road from Wieuca to Piedmont roads will be restricted. This is to allow pedestrians to watch the fireworks show from Lenox Road. All Lenox mall entrances will have controlled access beginning at 3 p.m., and will close to vehicular traffic at 6 p.m.

Intersection closings
The property's main entrance drive will close at 4 p.m. and several intersections will be barricaded at 6 p.m. These intersections include the following:

Peachtree Road and Lenox Road

Peachtree Road and Oak Valley Road

East Paces Ferry and Lenox Road

Peachtree Road and Stratford Road

Peachtree Road and Lenox Parkway (Ring Road)

Wright Avenue and Lenox Road

Kingsboro Road and Lenox Road

East Paces Ferry to Lenox Parkway (Ring Road)

Parking
Paid parking will be in place at Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza starting at 5 p.m. Parking fee is $10. Attendees can also park in the Neiman Marcus parking lot for $20 which offers priority departure assisted by the Atlanta Police Department. A portion of the parking fees will benefit the Simon Youth Foundation.

After the fireworks
Following the conclusion of the fireworks, APD officers at intersections will direct traffic away from the event area. They will also control exits from Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. Mall parking decks will close until pedestrian traffic clears the area.

East Paces Ferry will remain closed until the bulk of pedestrian traffic has entered the MARTA Station, after which, vehicular traffic will be directed out of the area.

MARTA
Your best bet for attending the July 4th festivities is to take MARTA. Click here for more information!
