Teen guilty in videotaped beating death of disabled man

CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

A 19-year-old Chicago man has been convicted in the videotaped beating death of a disabled Chicago man.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that a Cook County judge found Anthony Malcolm guilty Monday. Malcolm was one of three Chicago teenagers accused of fatally beating 62-year-old Delfino Mora and posting video of the attack on Facebook.

Mora's son, Emanuel Mora, says the conviction brings "a little bit of peace," but he says the ruling won't bring his father back.

Malcolm's attorneys say he only held the cellphone camera during the attack. But Cook County Judge Joseph Claps said Malcolm was "not only present, but also accountable."

Malcolm is to be sentenced July 26. The other two teens charged in the case are due in court next month.
