Prince to perform to sold out crowd on Near West Side

Prince will perform to a sold out crowd at his midnight show at a restaurant and bar on the Near West Side.

Prince featuring New Power Generation & 3rdeyegirl will perform a one-night only show at City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St.

City Winery tweeted about 6 p.m.: "Prince SOLD OUT. See the ticketholders tonight..err..rather early tmrw! Doors open at midnight."

According to media reports, Prince provided the entertainment for the wedding reception of Star Wars creator George Lucas and new bride Mellody Hobson on Saturday evening.

Prince was scheduled to perform for two hours with his 22-piece band at the reception that closed Promontory Point to the public, according to media reports.
