This week's #ThrowbackThursday takes us back to April 1989 when Falcons first-round draft pick Deion Sanders arrives in Atlanta for the first time since the NFL draft.

I found today's clip when I was searching for Deion Sanders file video last weekend when Sanders was inducted into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame.  It's clear that Jeff Hullinger had a lot of fun writing this one.

Here are a couple of observations as you watch.  First, isn't it crazy to see the crowd and camera standing at the gate in Hartsfield waiting to welcome Deion?  It has been over a decade since we could do that.

Second, Arthur Blank sure has taken the Falcons franchise a long way.  I could never imagine a press conference nowadays in that wood-paneled conference room at the Falcon Inn.  Side note: Wouldn't that old school Falcons banner look so cool in a man cave?

At last weekend's Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame induction, Deion told Ken Rodriguez that he was "ignorant" when he showed up in Atlanta.  Maybe so, but he was also charismatic and must-see television.  It certainly helped that his play backed up his "Prime Time" persona.

Our weekly Team of the Week pep rallies are now a staple of High 5 Sports, but they certainly are nothing new to WAGA.  This week's video is a Channel 5 pep rally from December 1982.

Talk radio has blown up this week with criticism of Fredi Gonzalez for not bringing in Craig Kimbrel at the beginning of the 8th inning in game four against the Dodgers.
Talk radio has blown up this week with criticism of Fredi Gonzalez for not bringing in Craig Kimbrel at the beginning of the 8th inning in game four against the Dodgers.  It isn't the first time a Braves manager has been raked over the coals following a relief pitcher call that resulted in a go-ahead homer and a playoff loss.
