Missing Mount Prospect teen found after more than 3 weeks

MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police have located a diabetic girl who had been missing from her northwest suburban home for more than three weeks.

Kristinmaylee Serrano, 17, ran away from her Mount Prospect home on June 19, and was found with family friends on July 8, according to Mount Prospect police.

The girl, who goes by "Kristy" or "Kristin," is a diabetic and had a limited supply of insulin, police said.

Serrano was described as 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds with long black hair that is typically curly and worn in a ponytail, according to police.

Anyone with information was asked to call Mount Prospect police at (847) 870-5656.
