Male critically wounded in Roseland shooting

A man was critically wounded in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the South Side Roseland neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 12:15 p.m. in the 10900 block of South Perry Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said, citing preliminary information.

The man, 19, appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the head, Estrada said. He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Area South detectives are investigating.
