FLORENCE, Ariz. -

A 53-year-old man was arrested after firing shots and complaining about the amount of minorities working in the area.

Pinal County Sheriff deputies say they responded to the area of Marigold Lane and Primrose on Monday around 11:50 a.m. Callers reported hearing shots fired in the Magma Ranch housing development.

A deputy found Danny davis, who matched the suspect's description, driving in his car.

Davis allegedly pointed a rifle out the passenger side window and fired a shot toward the deputy's patrol car.

Nearby deputies heard the shot, stopped Davis' vehicle and took him into custody.

According to deputies, Davis showed obvious signs of being drunk.

Davis allegedly told deputies that he was angry about the minorities working in the area.

According to deputies, Davis went into a framed house, confronted some construction workers and then fired a shot at them.

No one was injured during the shootings.

Investigators are continuing to investigate if the crimes were racially motivated.

Davis was booked into the Pinal County Detention Center on one count of Attempted First Degree Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
